Heavy snowfall has been experienced across Greater Manchester and into Cheshire, including at Manchester Airport today. The main runway in use over Christmas has been de-iced as further bad weather is expected later on this evening. The airport remains open and staff are continuing to maintain the best possible operation during the unprecedented weather conditions and clear the 750 hectare site of snow.
